George Francis “Frank” Buck Born 2 February 1821, in the Kingdom of Bavaria. Francis Immigrated to United States in 1847. 

 

Christianna “Christina” Behrschwiner.  Christina was born on 4 May, 1826, Hanover, Prussia. Francis and Christina were married c.1850. 

 

In 1860 Francis was a farmer in New Lots with his wife and five children. He had one farm hand working on the farm.

 

On the 1865 Census is listed as Francis, with his wife Christiana and six children, Joseph, Elizabeth, Frank, Mary, Christiana and Thersia. They were living in New Lots and Francis was a farmer. Frank had his sister, Elizabeth Buck and two additional farm hands working for him.

 

The 1870 Agriculture Census Francis was a Farmer in the Town of Jamaica on a 90-acre farm. There were 60 acres of improved land and 30 acres that were unimproved. His farm was on the East side of Springfield Road just North of the Springfield Cemetery. Frank had two boarders working as farm laborers on his farm.

 

In 1880 Agriculture Census Francis was still farming in the Town of Jamaica and now had 65 acres of improved farm land with 25 acres still unimproved. The regular census list Francis’s family as, wife Christiana, their six children, Frank, Mary, Christiana, Thersia, John and Charles. Francis now had three boarders that were farm laborers.

 

By 1892, the Census has Francis working as a Laborer in Hempstead. The farm on Springfield Road had been sold to a J. Ratcalf.

 

On the 1910 census, Frank was a widower and was living with his grandson, Joseph and his wife Margaret, in North Hempstead. Frank states that he was living on own income.

 

Frank died on 7 December, 1913, Queens, New York. He was buried on 10 December, 1913, at the Greenfield Cemetery, Uniondale, New York. Christianna died on 27 June, 1899, Elmont, New York. Christina is buried at the St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Elmont, New York.

 

Frank and Christianna had nine Children:

 

Joseph Charles Buck was born in July 1852, Kings County, New York. 

Joseph married Magdalena Gunther in 1877 (1854-1942). Magdalena was born in August 1854. In 1870, then 18-year-old Joseph was working on his father’s farm as a laborer. In 1880, Joseph was living in the Town of Jamaica and was working as a farmer, with his wife Magdalena and their two-year-old daughter Lizzie (Elizabeth).

 

The 1900 through the 1925, the census has Joseph and his family living in North Hempstead on 3rd Street. His occupation is listed as a farm laborer or gardener. From the 1930 and 1940 census, the Buck family was living on South 10th street in New Hyde Park, New York. His is listed as a gardener. 

 

In 1944, Joseph celebrated his 92nd birthday at an outdoor picnic at his home on South 10th street, New Hyde Park, New York. Mr. Buck stilled farmed a sizable piece of land, raising a variety of vegetables and did all of his own work in the preparation and care of the ground and crops. 

 

Joseph Died 9 August, 1946, New Hyde Park, New York. Joseph is buried at the St. Boniface Church Cemetery in Elmont, New York. Magdalena Died 7 August, 1942, New Hyde Park, New York. She is buried at the St. Boniface Catholic Church Cemetery, Elmont, New York. She had 25 Grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren.

 

Joseph and Magdalena had nine Children:

 

Elizabeth “Lizzie” Buck was born on 25 June, 1878. She married George Herman (1871-1964) on 24 January, 1899 at the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Elmont, New York. From 1900 to 1940, George was a butcher, farmer and gardener at a private estate. Elizabeth died in October 1977 at Sea Cliff, New York. Elizabeth & George Herman are both buried at the Cemetery of the Holy Rood, Westbury, New York. Elizabeth and George had five daughters together.

 

Charles Joseph Buck was born on 14 June, 1880. Charles married Margaret Unfricht (1883-unknown) on 28 July, 1901 at the St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church in Elmont, New York. From 1900 to 1940, Charles was a teamster, had a barber shop at home, was on a Commission route for a bakery and a painter. Charles died on 3 December, 1953. No information on burial locations for Charles or Margaret. They had four children together, Two sons and two daughters.

 

Mary “Mammie” Buck was born on 25 August, 1882.  She married Philip Unfricht (1879-1957) about 1903. From 1910 to 1940, Philip was a proprietor for a retail liquor, a printing pressman and a printer. Mary died on 28 August, 1969. Mary and Philip are both buried at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Elmont, New York. Mary and Philip had one son and two daughters. 

 

Joseph Charles Buck was born on 21 September, 1885. Joseph married 

Margaret Krug (1885-1935) on 30 April, 1907. Joseph was a bakery driver in 1910. Later he was in general trucking and trucking for farm produce. Joseph died in July, 1969. Joseph and Margaret are buried at the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Elmont, New York. Joseph and Margaret had one son and three daughters.

 

Albert William Buck Sr. was born in November 1887. Albert married Theresa “Tessie” Baumgarten (1888-1986) on 14 May, 1910. Albert was a driver for a milk company. Albert died on 8 August, 1915. Albert and Theresa are buried at the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Elmont, New York. They had a son and a daughter together.

 

Theresa “Hattie” Buck was born on 8 January,1890. Theresa married Edward Herbert Kalb (1886-unknown) on 22 February, 1909 at the St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church in Elmont, New York. Edward was a butcher   and later he was a salesman. Theresa died in May of 1986. Theresa is buried at the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Elmont, New York. No burial information on Edward. Theresa and Edward had one son. 

 

Anna Barbara Buck was born in April, 1892. She married August Albert Krug (1891-1946) on 2 October, 1912. August was a carpenter and in 1930 was a clerk for a stationary store. Anna died on 2 June, 1963 and is buried at the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Elmont, New York. August died in 1946 and is buried with his wife at St. Boniface. Anna and Albert had three boys and one girl. 

 

Caroline M. “Carrie” Buck was born on 25 June, 1895. Caroline married Leo Burkhard Gruen (1888-1954) Jr. on 16 August, 1925. Leo was an automobile mechanic. Caroline died in May 1983 in Alburquerque, New Mexico. Caroline and Leo are both buried at the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Elmont, New York. Caroline and Leo had one son and three daughters. One daughter was premature and died after one day and is listed as Baby Gruen on her death certificate. Baby Gruen is buried at St. Boniface.

 

Frances Buck was born in January, 1898. Frances married Philip Joseph Miller (1897-1969) on 4 September, 1918. Philip was an automobile machinist, auto salesman, proprietor for an auto dealer, and a proprietor for a gas station. Frances Died on 16 January, 1968. Frances and Philip are buried at the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Elmont, New York. They had one daughter together.

 

Elizabeth Buck Wenner Siebrecht, Born November 1854, Brooklyn, Kings, New York. Elizabeth married her first husband, Jacob Wenner (1842-1890), on 26 April, 1874 at the St. Paul’s Reformed Church in Jamaica, New York. Jacob was a farm laborer. Jacob Died 13 November, 1890, Queens, New York. Jacob is buried at the St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church in Elmont, New York. Elizabeth and Jacob had a son and two daughters together. 

 

Mary “Mammie” Wenner was born in January 1876. She married George Frank Stiehler (1876-1952) on 25 January, 1899. They were married at the St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Elmont, New York.  George was a farmer in the Hempstead area of New York. Mary died on 3 December, 1959. Mary and George are buried at the Greenfield Cemetery, Uniondale, New York. They had one son together.

 

Theresa “Daisy” Wenner was born on 4 February, 1879. Theresa married Henry Frank Jr. (1877-1950) about 1901. Frank was a farmer in the North Hempstead area. Mary died about 1933 in Northport, New York. No burial information for Theresa or Frank. They had two sons together.

 

Frank Charles Wenner was born on 25 August, 1881. Frank married Anna Marie Young (1891-1951) on March 1912. Frank and Anna were married at the St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church in Elmont, New York. Frank was a farmer in the Hempstead and Huntington areas of New York.  Frank died on 19 May, 1936 and is buried at the St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church in Elmont, New York. No Burial information for Anna Wenner. Together, they had a son and a daughter.

 

Elizabeth married her second husband Louis Siebrecht on 16 June, 1892 at the St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church in Elmont, New York. Elizabeth was 38 years old and Louis was 51 years old. Louis was a florist by trade. Louis was born in July 1843, Hessen Kassel, Germany. Died 8 July, 1905, Floral Park, New York. Elizabeth and Louis had one son, Arthur Clarence Siebrecht.

 

Arthur Clarence Siebrecht was born on 20 December, 1894 and died on 8 March, 1959. No spouse found.

 

This was Louis Siebrecht third marriage. He was first married to Karolina Hoffmann about 1868 and they had three sons and three daughters, His second marriage was to Helene Hoffmann on 6 May, 1888 and they had a son and daughter.

 

Elizabeth died on 11 January, 1927 at Melville, Suffolk, New York. She is buried at the St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Elmont New York. Elizabeth is buried with her first husband, Jacob Wenner, in the Wenner plot. 

 

Franz “Frank” Peter Buck Sr. was born on 12 April, 1857. Married Karoliene “Caroline” Stiehler (1865-1935) on 5 April, 1885. Caroline was born on 15 April, 1865, Ridgewood, New York County, New York. On the 1900 Census Frank and Caroline were living on Springfield Avenue in the Borough of Queens. Franks occupation was a farmer in the Borough of Queens.

 

Frank died on 12 February, 1904, Springfield, New York. Caroline died on 23 September, 1935, Fulton St., Hicksville, Nassau, New York. Frank and Caroline are both buried at the St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church in Elmont, New York.

 

Frank and Caroline had eleven children: 

 

Wilhelmina “Minnie” Augusta Buck was born on 11 June,1885. She married William O. Keppler (1883-1955) on 17 May, 1914. William worked from 1920 to 1950 as a laborer in a lumber yard, high school custodian, laborer in building construction and as a highway construction laborer. Wilhelmina died on 16 February, 1973. Wilhelmina and William are buried at Maple Grove Cemetery, Kew Gardens, Queens, New York. Wilhelmina and William had two sons and three daughters.

 

Elizabetha “Lizzie” Buck was born on 3 July, 1886 and died on 8 March, 1974. After her father died, she helped her mother on the farm as a farmerette. She is buried at the St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Elmont, New York. Never married.

 

Karoliene “Carrie” Buck was born on 23 November, 1887. She died on 5 April,1958. After her father she helped her mother on the farm as a farmerette. She later lived with her brother Philip and helped him on his farm in East Meadow. Caroline is buried at the St. Paul’s Presbyterian Cemetery in Elmont, New York. She never married.

 

Konrade “Conrad” Buck Sr. was born on 10 May, 1889. Conrad married Freida Emma Granz (1894-1970) on 22 January, 1922. Conrad worked as a farmer in the Hempstead area of New York. Conrad died in December 1969. Conrad and Frieda are both buried at the Plain Lawn Cemetery, Hicksville, New York. They had two sons and three daughters.

 

Franz Peter Buck was born on 14 June, 1891. Frank married Karoline Margaretha Becker (1899-1970) on 4 December, 1927. In 1920, Frank was living with his mother working as a farm hand. By 1930, Frank had his own farm in East Meadow. Frank died on 1 November, 1934. Frank is buried at the St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Elmont, New York. Karoline is buried at the Plain Lawn Cemetery, Hicksville, New York. Frank and Caroline had two daughters together. 

 

Philip Buck was born on 12 November, 1893.  He died on 26 September, 

1985. Philip was a farmer on his mother’s farm in 1920. He continued farming on Fulton Street in the Hempstead area of New York. Philip is buried at the St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Elmont, New York. Philip never married. 

 

Anna “Annie” Sophia Buck was born on 17 November, 1895.  She married Ernest Vernon Knoell (1895-1978) on 25 June, 1922 at the St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church in Elmont, New York. Ernest was a farmer in the Floral Park, Hempstead area of New York into the 1950’s. Anna died on 27 September, 1932. Anna and Ernest are buried at the St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Elmont, New York. Anna and Ernest had two sons and a daughter.

 

Emma Buck born in 1896. She is listed on the 1915 census, age 19, with her mother, Caroline as the head of the house. No other records located.

 

Maria Margaretha Buck was born on 15 September, 1898. She married Ernest Hugo Granz Jr. (1897-1960) on 23 September, 1923, at the St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Elmont New York. Ernest was a farmer in the 1930’s and 1940’s in the Huntington area of New York. In the 1950’s he was a laborer for a florist. Maria died on 23 October, 1966. Maria & Ernest are buried at the Plain Lawn Cemetery, Hicksville, New York. They had two sons and three daughters together.

 

Theresia “Theresa” Mabel Buck was born on 17 August, 1900. Theresa 

married Karl Wilhelm Granz Sr. (1900-1990) on 27 August, 1924 at the St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Elmont, New York. Karl worked for a florist in 1930 and was farming by 1940. Theresa and Carl are buried at the Belle Haven Cemetery, Belle Haven, Accomack County, Virginia. Theresa and Carl had one son and one daughter.

 

George Buck Sr. was born on 18 October, 1902. George married Milda Olga Anna Granz (1908-1971) on 25 April, 1928. George was working for a florist in 1930 in East Meadow and was a farm hand in Hempstead in 1940. George died on 10 April. 1990. George and Olga are buried at the Plain View Cemetery, Hicksville, New York. George & Milda had one son and one daughter.

 

Mary Anna “Marie” Buck Hoeffner, was born on c.15 December 1860. Mary married John Philip Hoeffner (1852-1935) on 12 April, 1884. John was a farmer in the Hempstead area from the 1890’s to 1910’s. He was a farm laborer from around 1915 to the 1920’s in the Brookhaven, Yaphank area of New York. Mary Anna died in 1943 at Yaphank, Suffolk, New York. John died on 9 August, 1935, Yaphank, Suffolk, New York. Mary Anna and John Philip are both buried at the Yaphank Cemetery, Yaphank, Suffolk, New York. 

Mary and Philip had two children: 

 

John Charles Hoeffner was born on 15 January, 1888. He died on 15 October, 1976. John married Lulu Gray Hulse (1890-1976) on 27 June 1914. John and Lulu lived in the Brookhaven area of New York. 1920 census john was a farm laborer. In the 1930’s and 1940’s he was a carpenter. John and Lulu are both buried at the Yaphank Cemetery, Yaphank, Suffolk, New York. They had two sons and a daughter.

 

William Philip Hoeffner was born on 12 November 1889 and died 7 October,1931. William was a machinist in the Brookhaven area of New York. William is buried at the Yaphank Cemetery, Yaphank, Suffolk, New York. No additional family found.

 

Jane Buck abt. 1861. Jane Buck was only listed on the 1870 census and her age was nine years old. No other documents have been located.

 

Christianne Buck was born on 26 April, 1862. She married Jacob Wicks (1862-1941) on 15 February 1885. Jacob was farmer in the Borough of Queens, Flushing Newport area, New Hyde Park and North Hempstead from the 1900’s to the 1940’s. Christine died on 10 April, 1928. Jacob died on 21 December, 1941. Christianne is buried with her husband at the St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church in Elmont New, York.

 

Christianne and Jacob had twelve children together:

 

Theresie Christiene Wicks was born on 22 June 1885. She died on 10 December 1887. Theresie was two years, five months, 18 days old. She is buried at the St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Elmont, New York.

 

Maria (Mary) Augusta Wicks was born on 22 August, 1886. Mary married Charles Everett Walters (1876-1939) on 28 December, 1911. Charles was a farmer in the Little Neck and Brookhaven areas of New York. Mary died 21 April, 1955. Mary and Charles are buried at the Yaphank Cemetery, Yaphank, New York. Mary and Charles had one son and four daughters.

 

Jacob Charles Wicks was born on 1 April, 1888. Jacob married Anna Catherine Koster (1893-1976) on 2 February, 1919. Jacob was a farmer in North Hempstead and East Northport, New York. Jacob died on 5 February, 1974 at East Northport, New York and is buried at the Northport Rural Cemetery, Northport, New York. Anna died on 31 July, 1976 at East Northport, New York. Jacob and Anna had three daughters. 

 

Charles M. Wicks was born on 5 January, 1890 and died on 4 June, 

1892. Charles was 2 years, 4 months, 30 days old. He is buried in the St. 

Paul’s Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Elmont, New York.

 

Elizabetha Franziska Wicks was born on 4 August, 1891. Elizabetha died on 14 March 1893. She is buried in the St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Elmont, New York. Elizabetha was 1 year, 7 months, 10 days old. 

 

Louis Archer Wicks was born on 4 September 1893. Died on 1 August, 1894. Louis was nine months old. He is buried in the St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Elmont, New York.

 

Herbert August Wicks was born on 10, October. Herbert died on 20 December, 1894. He was two months old. He is buried in the St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Elmont, New York.

 

Susie Wicks was still born 9 June, 1896. She is buried at the St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Elmont, New York.

 

Clarence George Wicks was born 24 June, 1897. Clarence married Ethel M. Breitbeck (1902-1980) on 30 November, 1923. Clarence was a farmer in the New Hyde Park and North Hempstead area of New York. Clarence died 24 May,1994. Clarence and Ethel had two daughters together.

 

Harold Vernon Wicks (Heinrich Werner Wicks) was born on 18 September, 1899. Harold Vernon’s name is listed as Heinrich Werner Wicks on the St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church record and the recorded birth date is 18 September, 1899. 

 

On his WWI draft registration, dated 12 September, 1918, he lists his name as Harold Vernon Wicks with a birth date of 18 September 1899. 

All documents after his WWI draft registration are in the name of Harold Vernon Wicks.

 

Harold married Anna Constance Kauffman (1906-1992) on 12 December, 1925. Harold worked on his father’s farm before he was married. In the 1930’s he was working as a building helper. Harold died on 15 January, 1970.  Harold and Anna are buried at the Flushing Cemetery, Flushing, New York. Harold and Anna had one son and two daughters.

 

Florence May Wicks was born on 9 July, 1901. Florence married John Benjamin Franklin (1902-1976) on 11 December, 1927.John was a foreman on a farm and a farm operator in the 30’s and 40’s in Melville and the North Hempstead area of New York. Florence died on 15 January, 1989. Florence and John had two daughters together.

 

Minerva “Minnie” Alice Wicks was born on 15 November 1903. Minerva first marriage was to Paul C. Breitmeyer. On the 1930 census, Minerva and Paul Breitmeyer were living with Minerva’s father, Jacob, on Lakeville Road. Minerva and Paul divorced in 1932.

 

In 1931 Minerva and John William Dunlop (1899-1989) gave birth to J. 

Bruce Dunlop born on 9 September, 1931. They had a second son, Robert Dunlop, born in 1937. John, Minerva and son Robert were living in Floral Park in 1950. Minerva and John are buried at the Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg, Monroe County, Pennsylvania. 

 

Theresia M. Buck was born August, 1864. Theresia married Wilhelm “William” Wicks (1864-1935) on 31 May, 1885. The 1900 through the 1920 census has Wilhelm working as a farmer on Rockhill Road, in the Borough of Queens. The 1930 census Wilhem was retired living on Nassau Boulevard in Hempstead. Theresia died on 2 January, 1939. Theresia and Wilhelm are buried at the Greenfield Cemetery, Uniondale, New York.

 

Theresia and Wilhelm had nine children:

 

Katherine Auguste Wicks was born on 20 October, 1886.  Katherine married Nicholas C. Walters (1883-1960) on 6 February, 1907. Census documents from 1910 to 1930 list Nicholas as a farmer that farmed in the Borough of Queens, Floral Park and Hempstead. Katherine died on 29 October,1970. Katherine and Nicholas are buried at the Greenfield Cemetery, Uniondale, New York. They had one son together.

 

Theresa E. (Daisie) Wicks was born on 3 August, 1888. Theresa married Ivan Chester Anderson (1921-2001) on 23 April, 1920. Ivan worked as a lawn mower mechanic and then as a Hardware Manager. She died on 8 November, 1941. She is buried at the Greenfield Cemetery, Uniondale, New York under the name Daisie Anderson. Ivan is buried at the Greenfield Cemetery, Uniondale, New York. Theresa and Ivan had one son.

 

Franz (Frank) Wilhelm (William) Wicks was born on 13 May, 1890. Frank married Elizabeth A. Greiner on 10 February, 1926. Frank work on farms as a laborer and later had his own farm in Melville, New York. Frank died in June of 1966. Frank and Elizabeth are buried at the Greenfield cemetery, Uniondale, New York. No children listed for Frank and Elizabeth.

 

William Carl Wicks was born on 21 July, 1891. Single in 1920 as farm laborer. William married Martha Anbel (1896-1984) on 2 December, 1922. William was a farmer in Queens Village. In 1940, in Queens Borough, William was farming and now had a daughter. William died on 12 April, 1943. William and Martha are buried at the Greenfield Cemetery, Uniondale, New York.

 

George Philip Wicks was born on 19 July, 1893. George married Mary M. Wulforst (1897-1975) on 27 April, 1918. Census documents from 1920 to 1940 has George farming in Huntington, New York. George died on 6 November, 1970. He is buried at the Saint John Cemetery and mausoleum, Middle Village, New York. No children found for George and Mary. 

 

Raymond Wicks was born in November 1899 per the 1900 

census. No additional records found.

 

Henry Wicks was born abt. 1902 as he is eight years old on the 1910 census. No additional records found.

 

Edwin Raymond Wicks was born 23 March, 1902. Edwin married his first wife, Josephine Marion Kiefer, on 30 March, 1921. Josephine died on 14 August, 1922. They did not have any children.

 

Edwin married his second wife, Nedra Emeline Hoener, on 20 January 1934 in Crawford, Missouri. Edwin and Nedra had four sons and a daughter born in Missouri. They were divorced in Santa Barbara, California on 23 March, 1979.

 

Edwin died in December, 1880 and is buried at the Bourbon Cemetery, Bourbon, Missouri. Nedra died on 14 July, 1992 at Santa Maria, California. Nedra is buried at the Bourbon Cemetery, Bourbon, Missouri. 

 

May (Mae) Margaret Wicks was born on 22 January,1904. May married 

Clifton Robert Engler (1899-1977) in c.1926. In 1930 Clifton was statistician for the Edison Company. In the 1940’s-1950’s Clifton was an accountant for the utility company. Mae died on 26 October, 1997. Mae and Clifton are buried at the Greenfield Cemetery in Uniondale, New York. No children listed.

 

John Francis “Frank” Buck born abt. 1867, New York. Died 9 July, 1885. John Buck was eighteen years old. No Spouse.

 

Charles “Carl” August Buck born 16 January, 1870. Charles lived and worked as a farm laborer on his brother Frank’s farm. Charles died on 24 January, 1914. Charles is buried at the St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Elmont, New York. No Spouse.
